Maine State Third Party Designee correction
Currently when filing a Maine State Tax return, on the information work sheet the questions asks "Would you like to allow another person to discuss this return with Maine Revenue Services?", when you check off the box that says "Yes, the preparer", the tax return prints "PREPARER" as the Third Party Designee Name. However, after much discussion today with a Maine Revenue Employee and her supervisor, that is not allowed. The Designee's Name line MUST print the actual Designee's Name on that line not just preparer.
