Line for text at top of CA 540 and 540-NR for Military Elections
Certain military elections, such as Veterans Benefits and Transition Act (VBTA) require that you write a word or phrase at the top of the return. California requires this, but there is no provision for it in ProConnect. The Federal Form 1040 has such a line for elections (like disaster declarations). Please add this to the CA return so we don't have to print/mail these each year.
