Generate bookmarks in pdf file

Excellent idea.

Take it a step further and have it generate a password protected, encrypted file based on a combination of their last name and Social Security number.

It would be nice if Proconnect online would be able to have a PDF Viewer/Editor to highlight or put stamps such as checkmarks on things acknowledged and done. The ultimate goal with this idea is to keep documents from being downloaded and keep the Document management within PTO up to date.

We're looking to understand how you will utilize this feature. Please provide examples of how bookmarks in pdf file would enhance your experience.

I would use it for reviewing returns that a staff person prepared. Instead of endlessly scrolling every time I need to verify an entry, I could go directly to the form. This would save considerable time for every tax return I review.

Plus, it looks infinitely more professional and "polished" when sending the pdf to the client.

I agree, it helps with the review process for the following year as well. When comparing to the prior year it's very helpful to be able to go directly to the page you are looking for. 

If examples are needed, review PDFs created by TurboTax and Proseries. Those programs create bookmarked PDFs. 

1. For tax returns reviews. This will save a whole lot of time.
2. Once return is printed, it is so much easier to navigate, especially in 100+ pages. To easily find Federal and Tax forms. 
3. I can bookmark pages that need to be signed (manually or digitally).

4. If client calls to go over specific item, it would be so much easier to navigate in pdf file.

5. Compare to the prior year returns.

6. It looks professional (even TurboTax provides this feature!).

I agree, please have this feature ready for the 2023 tax season.  I use this to review tax returns and it is a huge time saver.  This is a standard feature in ProSeries and Lacerte.  When I review a tax return, I add the bookmarked PDF to my source document PDF, which is generated by Gruntworx (or manually).  I then use TicTie Calculate to cross-reference the tax return to data in the source documents, all within the same PDF.  This serves as my Preparer Copy.
