I recently had a client email an IRS notice that explained his tax estimated payments were not received.

I had indiciated in the 2022 ProSeries Basic program for all estimates to be made electronically. Unfortunately only the April 15 and June 15 were sent. I spent an hour with help and they were not able to understand how that happened. I am very frustrated and nervous that payments will not be made from the 2023 program as well.

I hope this problem can be recitified. It did cost my client some penalties and interest and aggravataion as well as making me look incompetent.

Please email me if anyone else had this issue or a resolution.

Thank you.

The client never checks his bank account to see if payments are made?

The problem could be with the bank and not the software. I've had clients tell me their bank blocked the tax payment transaction. But they at least paid attention.

The more I know the more I don’t know.
