EFIN Not in Prep File
Prior to the 2021 program, the EFIN was in the Prep file because it was part of the firm information. It was light grey just like name and address and Lacerte account number. In 2021 it was not in my Firm information. The EFIN is blank. I was told that the 8879 is an e-file form therefore if you are not working online it will not appear on the 8879. The 8879 has to be printed before you e-file and should have the EFIN on the form. I cannot wait until I e-file to print the 8879 because the client has to sign the 8879 before I can e-file. Can we have it back into the prep file so we can print accurate forms from the program when working offline? Otherwise the only solution is to manually put in the EFIN because cannot have the client sign an incorrect form.
