On the FEDERAL information worksheet whenever there is banking information present it is REQUIRED to answer YES OR NO to whether withdrawal or direct deposit is desired. (Depending on whether there is a refund or money owed).

HOWEVER, ON THE STATES, there is no requirement to answer the exact SAME QUESTIONS.  It is easy to forget to select because the software doesn't require an answer on the STATE information worksheet, as it does for the federal worksheet.

PLEASE MAKE THE SOFTWARE REQUIRE A RESPONSE ANYTIME THERE IS BANK INFORMATION PRESENT - ON THE STATE WORKSHEETS JUST AS IT IS ALREADY REQUIRED ON THE FEDERAL WORKSHEET.

I'll one more thing to that ... up until a few years ago, we could have Federal marked as Direct Deposit even if the taxpayer owed money, and that direct deposit would flow to the State.  But a few years ago they screwed it up and won't let us keep the direct deposit box checked if the taxpayer owes, so now we need to go back to the State to check the box for direct deposit.

It seems like they are intentionally making things more time-consuming.
