Data Entry in LaCerte - State & Federal Forms
There is a major problem with entering information for a deceased client with a surviving spouse that is preventing e-filing.
The input section for the Federal Form 1310 is also the input section for Colorado DR0102. When you click the diagnostic for the Colorado Form DR0102, it takes you directly to the Federal Form 1310 section. Due to this, the information entered populates correctly on the Colorado DR0102, but it then forces a Federal Form 1310 to be produced and the box "A" is checkmarked indicating the surviving spouse wants a "Reissuance" of a refund check previously sent in both names. This should NOT be happening since a 1310 isn't required when a surviving spouse is filing an original joint return.
We, unfortunately, had a number of clients pass away in 2022 and the incorrect information being populated on the returns has been a serious thorn in our side.
It would be greatly appreciated if someone could remedy this situation and make a separate entry section for the 1310 and DR0102.
Thank you for your time,
Sam Brown
