API for ProConnect Tax Online

Is there another tax software that provides an API?

For wealth management firms who have lots of tax return data, an api would provide many opportunities to reduce labor and improve data quality.

Because of the limited capabilities of the PTO Organizer, it would be nice if we could get some of that information out of the software to put it in our own format without having to hand key a bunch of data into our own organizers. I believe this can be done with an API to "dump" data into Excel and we could do a mail merge with our own organizer. You could mask all personally identifiable information to keep security tight, but bring over the fields we all want. 

We're considering moving to cch Axcess because they have APIs

In 2024 I've built utilities to transfer data from Excel to Tax Return in CCH Axcess via its API and it's pretty effective. A couple of firms have used it. I hope I can do the same with Intuit Proseries and/or Lacert if  they have API. Anyone would like to try please let me know (steven@silversea-analytics.com)

Lacerte has SDK.
