Advanced tax and books access WITHOUT PAYROLL
We continue to run into the same permission issue across ProConnect and QuickBooks.
Our firm has full-time accountants and admins who prepare returns in ProConnect and handle client accounting, billing, and reporting in QuickBooks. They need full operational access to tax and accounting functions, but must not have access to:
Firm internal bank accounts
Other employees’ payroll and compensation details
Currently, the permission structure forces an all-or-nothing choice: either restrict staff from critical workflows or grant inappropriate access to sensitive internal data. This creates compliance, privacy, and internal-control concerns and is not a rare use case for professional services firms.
What’s needed:
Full ProConnect tax prep/review access
Full QuickBooks accounting & billing access
Explicit exclusion from payroll and firm banking
