8889-S & 8889-T Line C in the "Line 2 Smart Wks" Incorrect Wording: Substitute "tax filing deadline plus extension" for date
According to IRS Pub 969 (2023) a taxpayer has until the tax filing deadline plus extensions to remove excess contributions for the prior year. However, the Line C of the "Line 2 Smart Worksheet" on forms 8889-S and 8889-T have the April 15th date. Please reword that line item to show the tax filing deadline.
