WHY IS MY GL IS OUT OF BALANCE -BUT BALANCE SHEET BALANCES

Why would my GL be out of balance when my balance sheet balances?

Has anyone had this happen and how can i fix

You need to find when this happened by checking your reports and comparing the GL to the Balance sheet. Many times it is from a change to an account or missing account. I would then go to the Enter Transactions for each period and update/post each period to see if that fixes it. And you could try Data File/Index Repair.

Double check your dates and make sure you have everything posted to the right year.  When you enter an incorrect year, it will throw off the cumulative general ledger.  However it will post correctly to the balance sheet because I think it takes the information based on the "Period Entering" date rather than the date entered within the Enter Transactions screen.
