Upcoming Retirement of EasyACCT Prior-Year Products

We want to share an important update regarding EasyACCT prior-year products.

EasyACCT for tax year 2024 and earlier will be retired on February 16, 2026.

This change is part of an intentional upgrade as we modernize the system. These updates are part of our ongoing work to improve performance in tax year 2025 and future releases, while also meeting evolving security standards and supporting future enhancements.

After February 16, 2026:

  • Prior-year EasyACCT products (tax year 2024 and earlier) will no longer be sold.
  • Downloads for tax year 2024 and earlier will be disabled, even for previously purchased products.
  • Bug fixes, patches, and re-downloads for tax year 2024 and earlier will no longer be available.

What this means for you:

EasyACCT for tax year 2025 will continue to be fully supported. Many prior-year workflows and historical data tasks can be completed using EasyACCT 2025. However, access to certain prior-year data or workflows may vary depending on your specific needs.

What should you do?

To avoid any interruption to your work, we recommend upgrading to EasyACCT 2025 before February 16, 2026. For recordkeeping purposes, we strongly recommend saving PDF or physical copies of all completed filed forms from tax year 2024 and prior before February 16. After this date, you will not be able to install prior-year versions of the program to print prior-year forms.

If you have any questions or need help completing prior-year work, our support team is ready to assist at 1-866-220-0488.

If we convert our prior‑year company data into the newest version using “Convert company to the 2025/2026 EasyACCT version,” will we still be able to open and work with that prior‑year data after the February 16, 2026 retirement date?  Am I correct to understand that once the data is converted into the 2025/2026 format, it should remain accessible within the supported version, even though the original prior‑year programs will no longer be available.

Thank you for the clarification.

They mentioned some items wouldn't be accessible in prior yearsonce converted, but they didn't tell us which ones... so we have no clue what might and might not work.... I've asked and have not heard.

Access to prior-year software is not a convenience for accountants and Enrolled Agents — it is a necessity. Prior-year programs are routinely required for amended returns, IRS and state correspondence, audits, late-filed returns, basis reconstruction, and client inquiries that arise years after the original filing. In many cases, these tasks cannot be reliably or appropriately completed without the native-year software.

Of particular concern is the decision to disable downloads and re-installation of prior-year products, even for customers who have already purchased and licensed those versions. This creates substantial risk in the event of hardware failure, system upgrades, or machine replacement and effectively removes access to paid software without a viable contingency.

The recommendation to retain PDFs of completed returns, while helpful for recordkeeping, does not address scenarios where recalculation, diagnostics, or workflow-level access is required to properly serve clients and meet professional standards.

I've copied a portion of another users comments and would be in full support of the request for you to reconsider the drop dead deadline you are imposing on this community.  I can understand no longer offering support for the tax years which is typical as products are evolving.  Please at least offer to provide CD's for the years that might be requested by your faithful clients.

Thanking you in advance for your consideration,

With that in mind, I respectfully request that EasyACCT consider implementing at least a six-month transition period beyond the announced retirement date, during which:

  • Previously purchased prior-year products remain available for download and re-installation
  • Practitioners are given adequate time to stabilize workflows, archive environments, or migrate systems
  • Clear guidance is provided on which prior-year workflows are fully supported within EasyACCT 2025 and which are not

A defined transition period would demonstrate good faith toward the professional community that has relied on EasyACCT for many years and would materially reduce disruption during an already challenging modernization cycle.

Hello!

We’ve heard your feedback regarding the retirement of EasyACCT prior-year products and understand your concerns about continued access and reinstall capability. We’d like to provide clarification and an update.

Download Deadline Extended

For existing customers who previously purchased prior-year products, we are extending the deadline to download those versions through March 6, 2026.

Continued Access to Installed Programs

If your prior-year program is installed before retirement, it will continue to function, and your prior-year data will remain accessible — even after March 6, 2026.

After retirement:

  • Prior-year products will no longer be available for purchase
  • No updates, compliance changes, or bug fixes will be issued
  • Support will not assist with prior-year troubleshooting or installation/reinstallation

How to Download the Full CD Image

You do have the option to download and save your prior year EasyACCT programs before March 6, 2026:

  1. Sign in to My Account at ProConnect.Intuit.com
  2. Locate your prior-year product
  3. Select Download Full CD Image
  4. Save the file to a secure location (e.g., external drive or thumb drive)

While you may retain the prior year installs for future use, Support will not be able to assist with installation or technical issues after retirement.

We appreciate your continued feedback and your partnership as we navigate this transition together.
