Information Return System --Is there direct E-filing through Intuit bypassing the Fire System?
In the release note for the Information Return System it says
Introduction of direct e-filing for 1099 forms
Starting this year we have introduced direct e-filing for 1099 forms NEC MISC INT and DIV. Does this mean we can directly efile form the Information Return System?
Also have read the Direct e filing will send the data directly to the Intuit Electronic Filing Center which then forwards it to the IRS.
I have called the help desk and they say the Information Return system cannot do that.
I am so confused!
